Tassadar is a sanctimonious hypocrite
To follow my prior post about how Tassadar's actions during episode 1 are questionable, here's a post pointing out his blatant hypocrisy in episode 3.
At the end of mission 7, Aldaris chastises Tassadar for refusing to destroy the terran worlds. Aldaris is technically incorrect here: Tassadar delayed destroying terran worlds, but he still destroyed them.
Tassadar retorts and says he doesn't regret his actions and would've made the exact same decisions again. So he doesn't think in retrospect that it would've made more sense to ally with the terrans at the earliest opportunity instead of incinerating planets? He genuinely thinks his actions were the best he could've taken? It's even worse when you remember that he originally promised himself he wouldn't destroy any more planets after Chau Sara. Did he forget his promise? I get that the writers are trying to make him look like a strong hero here, but he come across like a sanctimonious moron who refuses to acknowledge his own shortcomings and failures. He's no better than the Conclave he's criticizing.
Then Tassadar surrenders himself to the Conclave's judgment because he was so horrified by the sight of protoss slaughtering each other. So he regrets being responsible for that, but not anything else? This will become important in a moment...
In mission 8, Fenix and Raynor rescue Tassadar from his trial... by slaughtering the Conclave forces standing in the way. When Tassadar is released, he thanks the Executor for rescuing him and shows no remorse or outrage for all the khalai who were killed in the process.
The Conclave decides to kill them all, then Zeratul shows up and tells them to stop. The Conclave stops and listens, despite being genocidal in the last mission. Zeratul spouts some meaningless mystical mumbo-jumbo and that magically convinces the Conclave to ally with them. Really? That's the best the writers could come up with? Zeratul could've proved his words by killing cerebrates in view of the Conclave, but he only does so after somehow convincing the Conclave to make peace. But I digress, this post is about Tassadar.
Tassadar's behavior is inconsistent. He's horrified by protoss killing each other, except for when he's not. He refuses to destroy worlds, except for those times he destroys worlds. How does that make sense? Did the writers forget what they wrote?
